A very warm welcome to the 2017 Ossett Beercart Blog. Here you will find detailed up to date information on our journey towards the 2017 Ossett Beercart festival.
The dates are set as Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd June 2017 with all activities set to take place in Ossett.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Beer festival in Ossett Town Hall which will open from 7pm-11pm on Friday and 11am -11pm on Saturday. Alongside an interesting range of 40 real ales we will also have a selection of ciders and a prosecco bar available, so there really is something for everyone. Friday night will see the Beercart Champion Beer announced and on both nights there will be live entertainment.
Saturday will see Ossett turning into a party town when we, along with our guest morris teams from all around the country, will haul the beercart from Ossett Albion Cricket and Athletic club on a two mile route around the town – a sight not to be missed. The morris sides will then display their unique dancing styles around the precinct from 11am until 4pm.
Our friends Building Ossett Better will be running a market in the precinct on the Saturday and limited edition Ossett Beercart merchandise will be available to purchase inside the town hall.
The Ossett Beercart is in aid of Wakefield Hospice – be sure to pop into their shops on Beercart weekend where you will find a whole host of morris related goods to purchase.
